Hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata)*

Typical tropical species, distributed only in warm waters of Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans.

Adult specimens can be easily distinguished from other marine turtles by overlapping of carapace scutes.

Rare in European waters, although it was recorded in the Mediterranean too. From that aspect, their presence should be regard as an exceptional event.
