Kemp's Ridley turtle(Lepidochelys kempi)*

One of the smaller marine turtle species, with carapace length to 70 cm. Carnivorous species, distributed along the western Atlantic coast. Kemp's turtle breed and lay eggs in Golf of Mexico (Rancho Nuevo, Tamaulipas).

Only subadult specimens were recorded in the European waters. The species was recorded also in the Mediterranean Sea also, but their presence in the Mediterranean must be regarded as an exception.
